One of Haiti’s more famous proverbs is “Men anpil, chay pa lou” - with many hands the load is light.
We are a small grassroots organization carrying a very heavy load. Our team is dedicated and accomplished; we take great pride in our work. Nevertheless, we can use help – especially during this time of exceptional crisis. The opportunities listed below will help us meet the challenges we face. If any of the following appeal to you. or someone you know, please contact us directly.
We often hear that we are all “in this together.” While true, each of us also faces a very different reality … what we face in the US, is very different from the reality Haitians are to soon be confronted with. Fortunately, during times of turmoil there are always those who rise to the occasion. This is our charge, and we would love to have you be a more involved part of what we do.
We need our “Friends of Frmwrx” to help us 1) raise funds, 2) spread the word of what we do, and 3) connect us with people who can help us with the opportunities listed below.
We understand this may not be an easy process for many of you, but we do want to make this as stress free as possible, so we have developed several resources to help you —help us— help others.
Corporate Giving + Social Responsibility
We have in-depth experience working with businesses and corporate social responsibility initiatives, and are very familiar with strategies for co-branding, storytelling, and showing accountability. Each relationship is unique, comprised of different needs & strategies; contact us directly, and we can work out an appropriate approach.
Grant Research + Writing
If you have experience with either searching for, or writing, grants … we want to hear from you! Our work hits numerous key issues that are hot-button topics; we know there are many funding opportunities out there, we just need help finding them.
Public Relations + Media Outreach
We have a unique and important story to tell, at a time when people need to hear it. Local ownership of our COVID-19 response has been one of the most unique, and powerful things we’ve seen working in Haiti … and that is saying quite a bit! We know the media is looking for unique angles about COVID-19 that tell an inspirational or unique story; although we have one, we do not have established contacts within the media, nor are we yet fully familiar with this process.
Social Media Campaign
Share what we do. Please. This is a no-cost, minimal effort, which will do loads of good. People want to hear a positive story about people doing good work on the ground, and our team in Haiti deserves to be recognized for what they have accomplished. Share our story on whichever social media platform you prefer, within your private network, or maybe even with your local media.
Marketing / Networking Guru
There is much about this process that we do not know, and there are people who know what those things are. If you are – or know someone who is – one of those people, know that we would love for you to pass your knowledge (or time) on to us and our efforts.
Of course, you can always just leave us a donation!
Our project’s on the ground are entirely carried out locally - by locals; we do not bring volunteers to work in Haiti. If you represent a legitimate NGO, or are an experienced international development practitioner, we are open to collaboration.
